LTI Recommends: Zen Habits

You may or may not have noticed, but it’s been a while since I last posted to my blog. I could make many excuses for this, but instead I will recommend a blog that can help us all simplify our lives to really focus on what is important. Too often we get caught up in being “busy” and lose track of what is important – mainly relationships, exercise, and beloved hobbies. Sometimes this can’t be helped. There are just times of the year when the stars align to run you off your feet. However, when you get a moment to step back and take stock of where your energies are being spent, sometimes there are choices we have to make to let some of that busy work go. We especially need to let these tasks or errands go if they don’t align with our goals or values.

Six Things I Learned From Meditating (for six hours)

For the past couple of years I have been interested in learning meditation. For me, learning to calm the mind and focus on the present has been something that I have been keen on implementing into my life. At first I downloaded a couple podcasts and audio books from iTunes to introduce me to some basic meditations, but recently I actually took the initiative to sign up for a 6-hour Meditation Workshop. They always say the best way to learn is by doing, and this case was no different.
