Faith is defined in two ways -
1) Faith is belief that is not based on proof
Most people when they hear the word ‘faith’ automatically think of religion or God or spirituality. Having faith that a higher power exists in the world that no one on earth can see. There is no physical proof of this existence (although those who have this faith would argue that everything living thing you see is proof enough). Unfortunately, this faith seems to either bring people together or drive people apart. I believe Eckhart Tolle states it best when discussing the idea of spiritual faith:
“Religion can be an open door or a closed door. A closed door occurs when one believes there is only one way / one God for 6 billion people on earth. An open door occurs when one allows for others to believe in their own God, which then promotes harmonious spirituality among all people.”
Whether you have faith in a higher power or not, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that you allow others to have faith in what they believe to be true without judgment.
2) Faith is confidence or trust in a person
