Blogging: My First 90 Days

Have you ever thought about starting a blog? Or have you ever wanted to write about something that you are passionate about? This is the situation I found myself in last year – wanting to write and share with others ideas on how to live inspiring lives. Today you are looking at what resulted from that want, and today I will share with you what I have learned from my first 90 days of blogging. I hope to hear from you (via comments) any questions you may have on blogging so that you, too, can start writing your own wonderful blog.

Getting started

They say the best way to learn is by doing, so last November I launched my site www.livetoinspire.ca. Getting started was relatively easy. The first thing I did was grab a domain name from GoDaddy,  which was really simple. You can search for the domain name you want right from their landing page, and if you find one you like all you have to do is follow the steps to purchase it. GoDaddy even offers hosting plans. Another installment of ‘LTI Recommends’ is upon us. This time around I would like to introduce you to a site that was introduced to me by a friend. I have recently taken the time to review the site and have come to enjoy everything it offers. I mean, with a name like that, how can it not bring more positivity into your life? I have personally bookmarked this site and visit it frequently. I find the writing easy to follow and understand. I can tell that the writer spends a lot of time reading and studying the topics he writes about, but keeps the tone very conversational and helpful.

In the beginning…..

In the beginning, there was inspiration. Now, of course I can’t speak to what happened in the very beginning of this world as we know it, but it seems to me that every action we see comes from some source of inspiration. Whether it be from nature, the animal kingdom, or fellow human beings, there always seems to be a moment where something clicks in your mind and moves you to do something about it.

That moment for me was threefold. One, I started reading “The Law of Success” by Napoleon Hill. To be honest, I’m only just starting the fourth chapter of it now, but as you can see the first three chapters have already had a big impact. The second moment was when a friend referred me to ‘The Positivity Blog’ (http://www.positivityblog.com/). Now, I don’t know the person who created this blog, and to be honest I have barely scratched the surface of what it offers, but it revealed to me an opportunity that I could create something similar and merge it with the ideas I already had bouncing around in my head from reading “The Law of Success”.
